Complementando os encantos do nosso litoral com suas belezas naturais diversificadas, é considerada a praia que mais apresenta cenários selvagens. As imagens paradisíacas do lugar são de fazer inveja a qualquer outra cidade litorânea.

O povoado recebeu o nome Lagoa Azeda devido às águas vigorosas que não facilitam à prática de esporte náutico, entretanto, esbanja uma beleza natural indescritível.

O local é bastante procurado por mergulhadores, que visitam o navio Itapagé, um dos mais belos naufrágios de Alagoas, e sua história nos remete a 2º Guerra Mundial, quando foi atingido por dois torpedos lançados pelo U-Boat U-161, afundando na altura da Lagoa Azeda. O navio de 120 metros vinha muito carregado. No fundo do mar ainda é possível ver as garrafas de cerveja.
