O Farol da Praia da Ponta Verde é um dos principais e belos cartões postais de Maceió. Esse gigante de 11 metros de altura foi construído em alvenaria com fundação em concreto armado, teve sua instalação em 1922 e foi inaugurado em 1949. (O Farol possui 67 anos)

Pode ser que você encontre algumas serpentes-marinhas nas poças, que se formam durante a maré baixa. Felizmente, serpentes do mar são geralmente dóceis e dificilmente oferecem perigo ao homem.
Já presenciei uma turista desesperada gritando que tinha uma cobra no trajeto e que não iria mais nunca no farol. Então se você também morre de medo só de olhar, vale lembrar que as serpentes-marinhas só ficam dentro de algumas poças, e que é possível evitar passar por elas, basta ir pela crosta dura.
